When we first saw Saxon we thought he might be an ACD mix but really he’s very much a hound dog and is better described as a lumbering goof. He loves to be outside, and has been a great hiking buddy. Sax is great with other dogs and loves a good backyard play session with his other foster siblings. He is sweet and when given enough exercise is a pretty mellow dude. Saxon is a little bit quirky and is looking for a more laid back home and someone who will be patient with him. Saxon can take a little while to warm up to new people he doesn’t know, he is not aggressive in any way but very wary of new people. He is learning about normal dog behavior, and is catching on quick. For example Saxon is learning that when leashed it means adventure time, he is still a little concerned about this and will sometimes hide under the bed or in his crate. Once in the leash he gets it. Saxon is looking for someone who is willing to show him all the beauty of the world and that understands he may need some loving encouragement. He is a total gentleman in his foster home, with 2 other dog friends and only one human.

Saxon is housebroken, crate trained and fully vetted. He is currently located in Flagstaff, AZ

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
