Miss Minnie penny (“Penny”) the pocket heeler is a young little lady with a full-sized ACD personality. This playful 14-pound pup loves to hide under furniture and play peek-a-boo with her larger foster siblings. She gets along with dogs of all sizes as long as they want to be friends. She loves to cuddle with her human, but she isn’t a diva about getting affection or claiming the couch. Penny is open to learning new things, possessing a steep learning curve which always impresses her foster parents. She enjoys meeting people and animals, and going new places, but she likes to play shy at first. Give her some room, and she’ll turn into the life of the party. When she’s finished entertaining, she’ll snuggle up with a blanket in her crate for quiet time. Penny is not inclined to chew things up that don’t belong to her or be destructive. She has come a long way in a short period of time, has learned basic commands and appears to be very open to training. The dog door scared her for a day or two, but now she’s in and out like a champ. Little kids running around sometimes make her nervous, but she hasn’t had much exposure to children. She bonds well with adults and especially warms up to men. Penny has proven to be a flexible girl in a tiny body, but so far has shown she’s capable of making a big splash.
Penny is crate trained, house trained, and fully vetted.
The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
