Sam Elliott is a cuddly, submissive, goof-ball who loves playing, snuggling and more playing.  At about 9 months old he weighs in at 52 pounds and still growing. Elliott loves to learn and is all about pleasing his person.  So far, his recall is excellent and will turn on a dime when his name is called. He scores high on food and tennis-ball motivation. We think Elliott is mixed with something other than cattle dog; people have said he’s resembles a bear, so he might be part Winnie-the-Pooh or Teddy Ruxpin. He will stop whatever he’s doing if he feels some people-cuddles are coming his way. He loves playing with his dog friends too, both male and female. Elliott is great on a leash, and he enjoys walking with short bursts of running. He doesn’t pull or stray from his person, and he loves to watch birds and butterflies in flight.  He’s still working on coordinating his big puppy paws while on his jogs, but he’s getting there. Elliott should not be in a home with cats, as he is prone to chase them. Food guarding and over-eating has also been his weak spot and prefers to eat in his crate without his foster brother and sister dogs sniffing at his meals. Potentially, Elliott could do well with children, and he does seem interested out in public, but we have not yet observed him interact with little ones.

Sam Elliot crate-trained, housebroken and fully vetted. He is currently located in Mesa, AZ

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
