Adaptable, fun, lovable, and smart are the words I use to describe Roxy.   She has lots of personality and will sure to make you laugh and bring a smile to your face.

Roxy has quickly learned sit, stay, and lie down.  She is great on a leash and when off the leash will stay close by.   If she does get distracted by a new smell or a friendly stranger she will quickly refocus as soon as you ask her to “come”

Roxy learned to use the doggie door on her first day and has never had an accident.  Roxy sleeps on the floor on the side of her foster parent’s bed and sleeps soundly through the night.  She gets up whenever her foster parents are ready.  Roxy is not crate trained at this time. She has a fear of confinement but is totally trustworthy in the house.

Roxy enjoys playing with toys, going for walks, and running in the park.  She is also content with snuggling on the couch or lying on the floor while you read or watch TV.  Her foster mom has done a little agility with Roxy and she has caught on very quickly.  Roxy has a lot of potential to be good at agility or some other sports activity.  She is smart, tough, and eager to please.  Roxy is also very food motivated and will do anything for a treat!

Roxy gets along with everything and everyone.  She is friendly to all people, enjoys hanging out with her dog friends, and is curious about the cat.  Roxy does like to play rough with other dogs and will get over excited.   She must be reminded that this is not acceptable.  She has modified her behavior immensely since being in her foster home. Roxy can be mouthy, especially when she is playing and gets excited, but she will stop if you set up strict boundaries.  She would do fine with older kids that could set boundaries with her but I would not recommend her with young children.  Roxy isn’t aggressive she just doesn’t recognize that she is being rough until she is reminded.  Roxy will need ongoing behavior modification to teach her appropriate manners.  However, she is very smart, learns quickly, and wants to please. An ACD savvy home is recommended.

If you want a devoted, fun, outgoing, and smart dog with tons of moxy then Roxy is the girl for you.

Roxy is housebroken and fully vetted. She is currently located in Mesa

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
