Say hello to Munchkin. He is what we would call a pocket ACD. He is a 4 ½ month old bundle of energy and happiness and at 9lbs, he is one small Red ACD for sure! He spends his days running with the big dogs in the back yard. His foster brothers and sisters outweigh him by at least 30 lbs, but he thinks nothing of “heeling” them if he thinks one of them is getting too rambunctious during play time. He loves to play with his human, canine and feline friends at the foster home though the cat is wondering where the rest of this ACD went as he currently weighs less than she does.
Munchkin is a red ACD/Chihuahua mix but his heart is all ACD! He will play in the yard for hours with much bigger foster brothers and sisters and then he will crash on his foster’s lap or in his crate for a nap. He is 80% crate trained and about 60% house trained and would benefit from being in a home with a doggie door. He is a smart, lovable, happy little puppy. We cannot predict if he will remain tiny but it sure looks like it’s leaning that way right now. He would do well in a home with other dogs to play with and/or a cat that will tolerate a happy, 9lb. nuisance trying to get her to chase him!
Munchkin is fully vetted and ready for his next great adventure. He is currently residing in Rio Rico, AZ, with his foster family.
The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
