Introducing the Honeymooners! These seven dogs have a fun story: ACDRers Kathleen and Doug married on eclipse day, 8-21-17. Their three-week wedding journey took them through Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Their trip’s final night found them in Navajo National Monument just south of Kayenta, AZ. Deep on a hiking trail, a determined band of 7 abandoned dogs found the honeymooners and held on tight. No lost-dog posters nor posts were found and no inquiries had been made with the rangers. The next morning, everyone was headed to Phoenix, and to Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue. In the frenzy of their discovery and transport, we assumed Luna, the adult female, was mom to all six pups. Upon closer examination and vet confirmation, we learned Luna had never had pups and that two pups were three weeks older than the other four. In the park and on their own, this pack became a family, an unstoppable force of nature, irresistible to any who stumbled upon them! Luna’s luck was immediate: she is now part of Kathleen and Doug’s new family! The pups have been growing up in Scottsdale, readying themselves for adoption. Different availability dates apply due to differing ages and vaccination schedules. Breeds? We see enough spots, hints of blue and intelligence to present these pups as Cattledog mixes. The pups are friendly, to all people and all dogs they have met. They have not met any cats while in foster care. They are crate-trained and are working on their house training. Approximate birthdate 6-26-17

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
