Hi. My name is Maya Rose and met my foster mom and dad when I was just eight weeks old. I was teeny tiny then but I’m getting to be a big girl now. I weigh in at almost 25 lbs and I’m growing like a weed. I have learned a lot while I have been here, like if I sit I get treats faster than if I stand there and bark! Who knew? I have also learned that a crate is a nice space to be in for the night. I can sleep in there all night long now….well, at least from 8PM to 4:30AM or so. That’s long enough for me! I’ve learned that if I ring the bell hanging from the laundry room door, one of my foster parents will jump up and come let me go outside! I think this is a great game and it only took me one day to train them both! Pretty good, huh? My foster mom says I’m about 75% house trained, whatever that means, and that I am improving daily. She also says that I probably would do absolutely GREAT if you have a doggie door and can show me where it is.

I love to play with my foster brother, even when he doesn’t really want to play with me. My mom says that’s because I have no concept of “personal space”. To me everywhere is my “personal space”, she tells me! I can be kinda’ too big for my britches sometimes. I haven’t learned what the meaning of  r-e-s-p-e-c-t is yet, but I’m trying.

I am very loving of my foster mom and especially of my foster dad. He allows me to sit on the couch and watch TV in the evening with him and he lets me snuggle up to him and fall asleep before I have to go to my “room” for the night.

I have been raised with a cat but she’s a very dog savvy cat so if your cat has never seen a whirling dervish puppy, you may want to have us meet slowly.

All in all, I am a PUPPY and I like being a puppy. I’m sure I am going to grow up to be a very nice (and beautiful) young lady but for now, a girl’s just gotta have fun!

Maya Rose is 75% house broken, crate trained and fully vetted. She is currently located in Rio Rico, AZ

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
