These seven dogs have a fun story: ACDRers Kathleen and Doug married on eclipse day, 8-21-17. Their three-week wedding journey took them through Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Their trip’s final night found them in Navajo National Monument just south of Kayenta, AZ. Deep on a hiking trail, a determined band of 7 abandoned dogs found the honeymooners and held on tight. No lost-dog posters nor posts were found and no inquiries had been made with the rangers. The next morning, everyone was headed to Phoenix, and to Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue. In the frenzy of their discovery and transport, we assumed Luna, the adult female, was mom to all six pups. Upon closer examination and vet confirmation, we learned Luna had never had pups and that two pups were three weeks older than the other four. In the park and on their own, this pack became a family, an unstoppable force of nature, irresistible to any who stumbled upon them!

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
