Rainbow is a beautiful, young, female ACD who has a wonderful personality in spite of her previous life. She came to rescue with a badly dislocated right hip. X-rays and Vet manipulation determined that just putting the leg back into the hip socket was not going to fix the problem. The leg would not stay in the hip socket. One FHO surgery and many weeks of physical therapy later, Rainbow is now ready to go to her new forever home.
She is as sweet as they come with her foster brothers and is fascinated with her foster sister, THE CAT. The cat, who is a very savvy dog trainer, has been teaching Rainbow how to play nice, nice with her and they both are doing very well together. We would be more than happy to place Rainbow in a home with cats as long as they are dog savvy as well. We believe that Rainbow’s dislocated hip may have happened when she was just a puppy as she does have a little hitch in her giddy-up when she walks. When she forgets that her leg is no longer a problem and she runs out the back door to play with her foster brothers you will not see a sign of a limp. We think that as time goes by the limp will finally disappear altogether.
She is a about 18-24 months old. She weighs in at just 35 lbs. She walks very nicely on a leash and is not reactive of other dogs when out and about. She is fully crate and house trained and up to date on all of her vaccinations. She is currently being fostered in Rio Rico, AZ.

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
