Rick is a big-hearted, goofy boy! No, he isn’t an official cattle dog. But sometimes ACD stands for Any Cute Dog, and Rick fits the bill. Rick is a big softie – inside and out. He loves for his person to stroke his head and ears, which is easy to do because he is always right next to you, and he feels so soft, you’ll love it too! Rick can be a boisterous fella who will do better in a home of all adults or with older children. At close to 60 pounds, he doesn’t quite understand that jumping to say, “hey! hello!” isn’t always the best idea. But Rick is learning quickly to calm down, sit, lay down, and get off. Rick is very motivated to learn and a true velcro dog – he’ll stay close, lean on you, and love you soooo much. He just needs a little love back to make his life complete. Rick plays well with the other dogs in the house, but sometimes needs to be reminded to mind his manners and not play too rough with the older or smaller dogs. Cats might be too small for this guy. If you’re looking for a big, sweet guy, who has the heart of a cattle dog if not the lineage, Rick could be just the ticket.
Rick is housebroken, crate trained and will be fully vetted on 7-31-17. He is currently located in Overgaard, AZ
The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt, it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
