Charlotte is a sweet and quiet lady waiting for that special someone that she can trust. Charlotte is very shy and takes her time at getting to know you. Charlotte has only connected to women and appears to be fearful of men. She is a one-women dog and would do best with a single female owner, a female household, or a couple where the man would not get put out by her lack of interest. She would not do well in a home with children. She is excellent with other dogs and ignores all other animals.

Charlotte is crate trained. She is excellent on a leash and will sit/stay on command. She enjoys going for long hikes or a simple walk to the park. Once she trusts you, she is great off leash and will stay by your side on long hikes. Once she is attached, she likes to be in close vicinity. She is not needy but just likes the company of her companion. Charlotte is very well behaved. She is very quiet and never barks or whines. She requires little activity although hiking and walking help her build confidence. She will do great with either a low active owner but also with a very active owner.

Charlotte will need someone that is patient as it may take months to connect. She has made great progress and shows her true self to her foster mom but few others get to see the fun and sassy side of her. When she is alone with her foster mom and foster dog brother she likes to run, chase, and play tug of war with her foster dog brother. She is just learning to be a dog so it will be very rewarding to watch her progress and learn to enjoy life to the fullest. Charlotte’s forever home will need to be committed to her for the long run. She will not be a quick fix. She takes 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. However, she is so beautiful and sweet that she will be worth all the time and commitment.

Charlotte is housebroken, crate trained and fully vetted
She is currently located in Mesa AZ.

The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application . It in no way obligates you to adopt; it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in.
