Miss Maggie is an 8-9 month old border collie mix, still very much a puppy at 33 pounds.  She likes to play hard and sleep hard.  She knows how to use the dog door and is housebroken.  At night, she sleeps on her bed in the bedroom, but loves to snuggle on the bed with you in the morning.  She is crate trained and will sometimes lounge in her open crate with a toy or treat, chewing is her favorite pastime.  She has only been crated when both parents are gone (rarely since we both work from home but do have to go out for groceries once in a while), she normally just hangs around in the house or yard with her 11 foster siblings.   Maggie needs a home with another dog of similar energy for play and companionship, she would not to well as an only dog.  She befriends dogs of all sizes and is respectful if the smaller ones don’t want to play.  Maggie has an unusual gait and occasional limp (might last for 6-8 steps) but it doesn’t slow her down.  She tested negative for Valley Fever and xrays didn’t show any injury or deformity.  It does not cause her any discomfort and the vet believes it may be an old growth-plate injury that may or may not go away.  She runs and plays just fine but no extreme exercise (frisbee, jogging, major jumping) until she is completely grown and evaluated by a vet.  This girl is smart and learns very quickly, but she needs interaction and stimulation so she doesn’t get bored and find herself in some trouble.  Maggie is a talker and rarely barks, mostly when it is required according to her sisters, but she enjoys a vocal game of wrestling or tug of war.  As boisterous as she is at home, she can be a bit timid in new environments until she’s had time to figure things out.  Give her a few days to settle into her new home and meet her new family.
